CATS

I cant explain how much I love this musical.  Only a couple of my friends know exactly how much I loved them about this.  I feel bad for them.  Everyday I’d talk about it.  I memorized every cat’s name.  If the person played a “different cat” as well, I memorized it.  Even if their names weren’t on the credits, I knew them!  I know all of the bloopers in the movie, like hidden staff members, costume malfunctions, and even when certain actors are missing and others replace them.

Mistoffelees, the original conjuring cat, is my favorite.  He’s the magical cat. Played by Jacob Brent.  Through most of the movie he is actually Quaxo, but at the end he changes to Misto, wearing a super sparkly black coat!  The song is also amazing.

I love most of the kittens, besides Electra, and I hate Macavity!  Macavity is the evil cat.  I only hate him because he’s the bad guy, and he cheats at cards.

Even though I love the cats and the story.  The music is where the real talent is.  Andrew Lloyd Weber wrote that part.  I love how the music itself sounds like a cat.  He also didn’t make the cats lazy or cutesy.  They had more attitude and sass, which all cats have.  The musical was based off of T.S. Elliot’s poem book called Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. Which I of course, have read multiple times.  Its just like watching the musical without the music.

  1. I did enjoy the rather amusing song which you have accompanied with your blog post but one question arised while watching it: Was there some kind of significance when the boot dropped during their performance?
